CDT President to Testify Before Senate on Open Internet Rules

Tomorrow, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. ET, Nuala O’Connor, President & CEO of the Center for Democracy & Technology, will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on proposed Open Internet rules – more commonly known as net neutrality. The hearing, entitled “Why Net Neutrality Matters: Protecting Consumers and Competition Through Meaningful Open internet Rules,” comes as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) works to restore open Internet protections and has sought public comments on the best path forward.

O’Connor is available for media interviews today and tomorrow after the hearing. Contact Brian Wesolowski at [email protected] to arrange an interview.

Her remarks will build on CDT’s initial comments to the FCC on proposed open Internet rules and comments CDT filed this week. She also recently sent a letter to the FCC that was co-signed with the American Library Association that reflects the views she will share at the hearing.
