Written evidence submitted to Joint Committee on Human Rights regarding UK Draft Investigatory Powers Bill

In the UK, the parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights examines every newly introduced bill to ensure that it complies with human rights. 

On December 7, 2015, CDT submitted written evidence to the Committee describing some of the ways in which the draft Investigatory Powers Bill falls short of human rights standards, particularly where the proposed scheme for authorizing surveillance measures is concerned.
