‘Privacy Chat’ Draws Huge Participation

This past Tuesday, CDT moderated the first weekly 'privacy chat' on Twitter through our @CenDemTech account. If participation and volume are measuring sticks, it was a great success. Over 600 tweets were sent out on Tuesday featuring our chat hashtag #PrivChat. Of course, numbers alone don't equal success. The ultimate goal of features like the privacy chat and Ask CDT is to better engage Internet users on online privacy. Through our Take Back Your Privacy campaign, we offer the opportunity to turn knowledge about privacy issues into action.

A special thanks is owed to @PrivacyCamp's Shaun Dakin, who worked tirelessly to raise awareness and organize the privacy chat, and to CDT privacy experts Justin Brookman (@JustinBrookman) and Erica Newland (@EricaNewland), who replied to questions and comments during the chat.

You can see a transcript of the chat here. If you have topic suggestions for #PrivChat, please leave them in the comments section below and include your name and/or Twitter handle in the comment. We hope to see you at the next #PrivChat, Tuesday, noon eastern.
