CDT Joins Letter to Social Media Platforms Reiterating Importance of Curbing the Spread of Disinformation Before U.S. Midterms

In a follow-up to a letter sent in May, the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) again joined a coalition of organizations in urging social media platforms to take measures curbing the spread of election disinformation before the U.S. midterms.

The signatories noted the platforms’ recent announcement of the policies that will be in place during this immediate pre-election period. They also highlighted the importance of addressing false narratives around past elections, which has become embedded in American political discourse. Finally, they urged the platforms to invest more resources in preventing the spread of non-English disinformation.
