The Centre for Democracy and Technology Europe (CDT Europe) is a non-profit organisation advocating for the promotion and protection of democracy and human rights in European tech law and policy. We work closely with lawmakers and civil society partners on key legislation in the European Union which regulates the online space, how people interact with it and how it impacts their rights.
Through our expertise and technical knowledge, as well as our familiarity with the EU institutions and other relevant bodies, we work to come up with practical solutions to help shape a digital world which respects fundamental rights. We form broad coalitions with civil society which aim to raise the voices of those most likely to be impacted by the tech policy we work on, always striving to take an inclusive, intersectional approach.
CDT Europe’s work to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated gender-based violence is rooted in our commitment to protecting freedom of expression and addressing online harms that disproportionately affect minoritised groups. Through our Online Expression & Civic Space programme, we advocate for a rights-based, feminist, and intersectional approach to online safety.
