Marie Seck is the assistant of the Online Expression and Civic Space Programme at the Centre for Democracy & Technology Europe. She supports the programme’s research and advocacy on key EU policy developments relating to online expression, such as the Digital Services Act (DSA) and its delegated acts, and the upcoming Digital Fairness Act (DFA).
Marie is interested in the impact big tech companies have on our everyday life and how their practices affect our human rights. As a passionate advocate for gender equality, she particularly cares about how disproportionately companies’ practices affect the human rights of women & LGBTQIA+ people.
She previously interned with OHCHR’s B-tech project, supporting the project’s work on applying the UN General Principles on Business and Human Rights to new and emerging technology.
Marie holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris University College.
