CDT Welcomes House IP Subcommittee Bringing Attention to Protecting Consumers’ Right to Repair

Also signed by CDT Intern Hannah G. Babinski

The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) submitted a letter for the record in the hearing by the House Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet, on protecting the right of consumers to choose where to get their electronics-enabled products repaired.

The letter explains that CDT supports this right as a cornerstone of consumers’ bedrock rights of ownership, and that it needs to be protected against being undermined in the Digital Age.
