In response to a letter from leading technology companies calling for FISA reform, CDT President and CEO Leslie Harris made the following statement:
“Yesterday the leading technology companies stepped up and boldly called for major FISA reform, joining a growing chorus of voices against the status quo. This is a defining moment and other companies must now step up to support genuine FISA reform or explain to their users why they are not,” said Leslie Harris, CDT President and CEO.
“On the same day, the Senate Intelligence Committee advanced a bill largely intended to ratify the status quo. Everybody, companies and advocates alike, must be united in their opposition to this bill, and turn their attention to advancing real reform,” she added.
