CDT Joins Broad Coalition in Urging Biden Administration and Congress to Nominate Fifth FCC Commissioner

The Center for Democracy & Technology joined a broad coalition of civil and digital rights organizations in signing a letter renewing a request that the Biden administration and Congress nominate and confirm a fifth Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission.

It is vital that the administration and Congress move as quickly as possible to ensure that the agency is fully staffed and equipped to move forward with high-priority items like closing the digital divide, protecting the nondiscrimination principles that have underpinned the internet for decades, and promoting privacy online.

CDT signed on to underscore the urgency that the Commission be fully staffed to make progress now on these pressing issues.
