CDT Comments on “REBOOT: Re-Examining the Strategies Needed to Successfully Adopt Health IT”
In April 2013, six Republican Senators – Alexander, Burr, Coburn, Enzi, Roberts and Thune – released a white paper, “REBOOT: Re-Examining the Strategies Needed to Successfully Adopt Health IT,” and invited public comment. In the paper, the Senators identify deficiencies related to health IT implementation in five areas: (1) path toward interoperability; (2) costs; (3) oversight; (4) patient privacy; and (5) path to sustainability. CDT’s comment letter addresses the issues of interoperability, oversight, and patient privacy. CDT also endorsed the comments filed by the Consumer Partnership for eHealth.
