CDT Joins Disability Rights and Justice Allies in Requesting Funding for the Assistive Technology Act
The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT), a member of the Consortium for Constituents with Disabilities, joined over 25 disability rights and justice organizations in signing two letters, one to the United States House and one to the United States Senate, respectfully requesting inclusion of funding for Assistive Technology (AT) Act Programs.
Funding provided through the AT Act supports programs that ensure disabled people have access to the assistive technologies, devices, and services that they need. Funding the AT Act would allow an increase in the breadth of services and address the consistently increased demands for these services, to benefit people with disabilities.

Location data is particularly sensitive, and when collected across time it can reveal a broad range of intrusive insights such as medical conditions, sexual orientation, political activities, and religious beliefs.
