Ridhi Shetty

Senior Policy Counsel, Privacy & Data Project

Ridhi Shetty is a senior policy counsel with CDT’s Privacy & Data Project. Her work focuses on algorithm-driven decision-making and related data practices in the private sector that affect access to economic stability. She analyzes how policymaking should strengthen enforcement of civil rights and consumer protection laws to address the evolving impacts of these practices.

Prior to joining CDT, Ridhi was a research assistant for publications on human rights issues, including Sherley Cruz’s Coding for Cultural Competency: Expanding Access to Justice with Technology. She also was a student attorney at the AUWCL Gender Justice Clinic and researched local civil rights laws and cases as a Legislative & Policy Clerk at the DC Office of Human Rights. Ridhi holds a B.A. from Rutgers University-Newark and a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Before law school, she worked at a nonprofit that used art to foster community dialogue, which sparked her interest in community-informed policy.
