Portia Wenze-Danley

Portia Wenze-Danley joined the Center for Democracy and Technology in January 2009 as the new Director for Administration. As of Fall 2010, she assumed the role of Managing Director, Finance and Operations. Portia is a senior administrative operations professional with over 21 years of diverse experience in organizational management including leading a historic green building renovation and LEED certification process. She is responsible for CDT’s finances, general office administration, human resources, facilities management, and systems administration.
Earlier in her career, Portia served as Meetings Coordinator with the Association of American Medical Colleges and Human Resources Specialist for Howard University Physicians, Inc. Prior to CDT, Mrs. Wenze-Danley was the lead staff person directing the multimillion-dollar rebuilding to ADA and green specifications of the Friends Committee on National Legislation’s office building on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Portia grew up in Fitzgerald, Georgia and is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Terrell “Chef Tee” Danley and their 20-year old daughter, Nina, who attends Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.
