Fellow, Equity in Civic Technology
Michael was a Fellow on the Equity in Civic Tech team at CDT. In that role, he worked to help governments responsibly and safely deploy AI. His work at CDT was supported by Open Philanthropy.
Before joining CDT, Michael researched machine learning bias and fairness at Australian National University, where he worked across disciplines with philosophers, lawyers, and sociologists. He also worked on machine learning bias mitigation at Salesforce AI.
Michael holds a BA in Computer Science & Philosophy from Minerva University, where he was part of the first graduating class. Find Michael on LinkedIn here.
