
Marcel Mir
AI Policy Fellow, Equity and Data Programme, CDT Europe
Marcel Mir is the AI Policy Fellow for the Equity and Data Programme. Prior to joining CDT Europe, Marcel participated in the Code of Practice multi-stakeholder process for General-Purpose AI Models, advising rights-holder groups across the cultural and creative industries on transparency and intellectual property aspects. He previously worked on the development of a hash-based technical solution for training dataset disclosure shared with the AI Office, NIST and the UK AI Safety Institute.
Marcel is a Spanish qualified lawyer with a background in intellectual property, civil litigation and commercial law, having worked for international law firms in these fields with a focus on tech. He holds an LLM in Innovation, Technology and the Law from the University of Edinburgh where his dissertation focused on the transparency requirements and challenges of the EU AI Act.
