Greg Norcie
Staff Technologist
Greg Norcie was a Staff Technologist at CDT. Greg provided technical expertise to assist CDT staff in formulating and articulating policy positions, and also worked on CDT’s Internet Architecture project, where he focused on embedding privacy and respect for human rights into technical standards and policy decisions.
Greg has a B.S. in Information Science with a concentration in Information Security and minors in Cognitive Psychology and English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s in Security Informatics from Indiana University. He left the Security Informatics PhD program ABD in 2015 to pursue a career in technology policy.
Prior to working at CDT, Greg was a research assistant to Dr. Lorrie Cranor at the Carnegie Mellon Usable Privacy and Security (CUPS) Lab. Greg also designed cybersecurity training materials for Wombat Security, a Pittsburgh based anti-phishing start-up. While at Indiana University he interned as a User Experience Researcher at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) and Mozilla.
