FTC Proposes National "Do Not Call" List
February 1, 2002
The Federal Trade Commission has proposed new rules for telemarketers, including the creation of a national "do not call" registry. This would be a list that consumers would use to say that they do not want to receive telemarketing calls. The proposed rule is open to public comment. To make it easier for Internet users to make their voices heard in Washington, CDT has created a special site where individuals can learn about the issue and file comments.
