Customers stay despite high-profile data breaches
We are clearly schizophrenic about this technology. We love it, we use it, we expect it to work, and we've woven it into our daily lives, professionally, socially and personally. But we really don't trust it, and we do get upset when our data is lost or stolen.
Each week, there are new reports of break-ins to corporate computer systems and incidents of stolen customer lists, email addresses and other sensitive data. Despite these reports, customers appear impervious to the security threats as they continue to turn over their data to shopping sites, social networks and a bevy of other services in high numbers.
