House unanimously approves update to Electronic Communications Privacy Act

Government Matters:

Last week, the House of Representatives gave its unanimous support to legislation that requires the government to get a search warrant before it examines citizens’ older emails.

The bill was backed by a diverse group of organizations including the liberal American Civil Liberties Union and the conservative Heritage Action for America.
