CDT Comments on E-Verify Program

Today CDT submitted written comments to the Department of Homeland Security’s Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee on the substantial privacy and civil liberties risks of E-Verify, the DHS program to electronically verify the work eligibility of newly hired employees in an effort to combat illegal immigration. CDT urged the Committee to make recommendations to DHS and Congress to provide adequate safeguards and procedures to protect the rights of workers.
