New technologies offer services and opportunities that previous generations could not have imagined. But they also introduce serious privacy risks. CDT believes that if these risks are addressed early on and if practical and consumer-conscious frameworks are developed alongside these new technologies, then consumers can take advantage of all that innovation has to offer without having to worry about what they are giving up in return. From cloud computing to the growing use of Deep Packet Inspection by ISPs, CDT aims to find workable solutions that demonstrate that innovation and privacy are anything but mutually exclusive.
