Press Release: Jake Laperruque Joins CDT’s Security & Surveillance Project

(WASHINGTON) – The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) is delighted to welcome Jake Laperruque as Deputy Director of the Security and Surveillance Project. Jake comes to CDT from the Constitution Project at the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), where he served as Senior Counsel and managed all of the organization’s advocacy on privacy issues.

“Jake is an accomplished and passionate advocate for civil liberties, human rights, and the responsible use of emerging surveillance technologies,” says Greg Nojeim, CDT’s Director of the Security and Surveillance Project.

“We are excited for Jake’s leadership on many of our focus areas, especially preserving encryption on a global basis, resisting discriminatory surveillance of marginalized communities, reforming intelligence surveillance, and applying the Fourth Amendment and related laws to protect people’s digital rights,” he says.
