CDT Joins Others Urging Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to Apply Fair Credit Reporting Act to Financial-Related Data Brokers
CDT joined a letter with other civil society organizations analyzing the harm that data brokers cause to consumers in the financial services industry, and urging the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to move forward its rulemaking on the application of the Fair Credit Reporting Act to data brokers that trade in financial data, and to prohibit the sale of “credit header” data that is often personal, sensitive data.
