Brookman Testifies on Administration’s Privacy Proposal

In his testimony before the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade (Committee on Energy and Commerce), Director of CDT’s Consumer Privacy Project Justin Brookman offers  a brief overview of the privacy threats faced by modern consumers and analyzes the relationship between privacy and innovation. The testimony also includes a discussion of the Administration’s “Privacy Bill of Rights,” its plans to convene multistakeholder groups to prepare codes of conduct that will promote privacy protection, and the need for a privacy framework to support the rapid innovation propelling our economy forward today.
