Join Intel on Wednesday, November 14 at 5:00 PM for Tech + Policy @ Intel: Privacy in the Age of Innovation

Data privacy and privacy regulation are increasingly under a microscope in the U.S. and globally as governments evaluate the impact of new technologies on their societies. But patchwork regulations pose a threat to innovation in groundbreaking technologies such as artificial intelligence. For these technologies to reach their full potential, a strong, federal data privacy framework is necessary to protect citizens’ privacy while enabling the ethical use of data critical to these fields.

On November 5, Intel released a draft privacy bill that is consistent with our country’s history of freedom, innovation and entrepreneurship. We published our draft on an interactive website that supports a new form of collaborative policymaking, allowing both experts and the public to comment. This proposed legislation is a critical first step toward initiating dialogue and open collaboration that will further innovation in privacy.

As part of this dialogue, Intel invites you and your colleagues to join us at an informal event on the future of privacy and data protection in the age of innovation. Join us for an interactive discussion and Q&A with:

  • David Hoffman, Associate General Counsel and Global Privacy Officer, Intel Corporation
  • Tim Sparapani, Founder & Principal, SPQR Strategies
  • Michelle Richardson, Director of Privacy & Data Project, Center for Democracy & Technology
  • Marc Groman – Privacy & Data Protection Advisor at Groman Consulting Group LLC, Former Senior Advisor for Privacy at the White House Office of Management and Budget
  • *Additional panelists to be announced*

Panelists will discuss the challenges of establishing comprehensive U.S. privacy legislation as well as industry and government efforts to ensure the United States is a leader in developing a privacy policy that allows innovative technologies to flourish while protecting individual citizens’ data.

The evening will begin with an informal cocktail reception at 5:00 PM, with the panel discussion to follow at 5:30 PM.
