Join the Center for Democracy & Technology for a warm cocktail reception on the afternoon prior to the inauguration of the 45th president. The event will start with a brief program focused on the values we must uphold over the next four years, followed by a cocktail reception and conversation on how we can minimize inequality, promote free expression, and protect digital civil liberties though technology and policy.

Please contact [email protected] with questions about the event.

NOTE: As a security precaution heading into the presidential transition, there will be street closures throughout Washington. CDT’s event takes place at 1315 K St NW, at 14th Street. The event venue is at the northern border of some of these closings and vehicle traffic will be restricted to residents or businesses within the restricted area. Starting around 3 am on Thursday, K Street will be shut down to most vehicle traffic from Washington Circle to 11th St NW.

While you may be able to access K Street, using your ticket to justify entry, CDT urges attendees to consider leaving their cars at home and instead use public transit or a ride sharing company or taxi to reach the venue. All of the streets immediately north of the venue are expected to remain open on Thursday (though part of Massachusetts will be closed on Friday). The venue is roughly 1/3 of a mile from the Farragut North metro station, and 1/2 mile from Metro Center.
