Chris Calabrese Joins CDT as Senior Policy Director

The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) is excited to announce Chris Calabrese as our Senior Policy Director. Calabrese, most recently with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), has a wealth of experience in protecting individual rights, particularly where privacy, surveillance and data collection are concerned. At CDT, Chris will work across policy teams to encourage collaboration, develop policy strategy, and help lead CDT’s advocacy and coalition work.

At the ACLU, Calabrese led the Washington Legal Office’s efforts in fighting for privacy and the responsible use of technology, particularly developing strategy for battling flawed data collection practices of the government and private sectors. Previously, Calabrese was project counsel at the ACLU Technology & Liberty Project and legal counsel to the Massachusetts Senate Majority Leader, Linda J. Melconian.

Calabrese completed his J.D. at the Georgetown University Law Center, and graduated from Harvard University.

Welcome to CDT, Chris!
