CDT Welcomes Lisa Hayes as Vice President of Programs & Strategy

The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) is excited to announce Lisa Hayes as our Vice President of Programs & Strategy. Hayes, most recently with the American Constitution Society for Law & Policy (ACS), has led teams in operational roles for 15 years and has deep experience in law, public policy, fundraising, and nonprofit governance. Her legal focus is on constitutional law and policy, including free speech and privacy issues. At CDT, she will work across the organization to improve internal operations and strategic positioning, produce impactful events, identify development opportunities, and facilitate external relations.

At ACS, Hayes was Vice President for Development & Senior Counsel.  She was responsible for strategic positioning, fundraising and producing the organization’s annual national convention.  Before ACS, she was the Director of Outreach at the Alliance for Justice, where she managed relations with the organization’s 100 members, acted as the organization’s online voice, and conceived and orchestrated events around the country. Before joining the nonprofit world, Hayes was in private practice as a partner in a Seattle law firm.

Hayes completed her J.D. at the University of Washington School of Law, and graduated from Boston University.

Welcome to CDT, Lisa!
