CDT to Host Twitter Chat on Privacy

Recently, there has been a spate of high-profile news stories focusing on social media privacy, including the latest from the Wall Street Journal on Facebook apps transmitting identification information to advertisers.

CDT has sought to shed light on this and other complex privacy issues with projects such as Ask CDT: Social Media Privacy. In an effort to pull more people into the discussion about protecting privacy online and create an environment that both provokes questions and provides answers, we're beginning a weekly "privacy chat" on Twitter.

Next Tuesday, October 26, at noon eastern time, we'll kickoff a weekly one-hour, free-form Twitter chat that I'll moderate from CDT's Twitter account @CenDemTech. Everyone is welcome. To participate, you simply need to use and follow the hashtag #PrivChat. For more details on joining this chat, see these easy-to-follow instructions from @PrivacyCamp's Shaun Dakin.

If you have ideas for conversation topics, please submit them in the comments section below.

We look forward to hearing from you on Tuesday.
