
AI in Government Delivery of Public Services
Increasingly public agencies at all levels of government are turning to AI to address long standing issues in public service delivery, such as improving customer service, preventing fraud and waste, reducing administrative burden, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public benefits decisions. However, with AI being used in such a high stakes setting it is imperative that agencies get it right.
CDT’s Equity in Civic Technology team provides resources and guidance to public administrators to ensure agencies’ use of AI in the delivery of public benefits and services aligns with the core mission of government – to serve constituents in ways that improve their lives.
