Open Internet Counsel
As Open Internet Counsel, Stan works to advance principles of a free and open internet, focusing on issues around copyright reform, net neutrality, and intellectual property. Currently located in Abu Dhabi, Stan strives to promote open and democratic policies across the global internet and to raise awareness of time zone conversions. Prior to joining CDT as a Fellow in 2015, Stan worked as a teaching assistant at Georgetown University Law Center where he helped students design and build legal expert systems for the Iron Tech Lawyer competition. Stan received his J.D. from Georgetown, a B.S. in Forest Resources from University of Georgia, and is trying to learn Arabic from his four year old. Before joining the world of technology law and policy, Stan worked in construction, including several years of projects in the United States Virgin Islands.
