Online Protest Launched Against China Net Prosecution - On the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Internet civil liberties organizations have launched a public protest campaign against China's criminal prosecution of two Internet activists, one for disclosing Internet addresses to a pro-democracy newsletter and one for sending email messages to dissidents in the U.S. The campaign, initiated by the Digital Freedom Network and supported by CDT, urges Internet users to write email protest letters to Chinese officials. In other human rights cases, international condemnation has proven highly effective. Take Action Today! December 10, 1998
