Privacy Groups Call on Attorney General to Strengthen Privacy Protections - In a letter dated May 2, CDT and other privacy groups called on Attorney General John Ashcroft to change the way the FBI uses its controversial Carnivore e-mail monitoring system, to support stronger privacy protections in the electronic surveillance laws, and to provide additional protections regarding law enforcement access to medical records.
