Task Force Faces Complex Issues in Protecting Children Online - The Internet Safety Technical Task Force, launched today, said it plans to focus on the efficacy of age verification technologies as a means of protecting children from inappropriate content and contacts. While CDT is pleased to participate as a member of the task force, it does so with a healthy dose of skepticism. Not only must the task force be objective and rigorous in its study of age verification and other technologies, it must also consider the full legal and policy implications of those technologies and their impact on the Internet, CDT said.
